RNS I Bokaro: Amidst a slight decline in fresh COVID-19 cases the fatality ratio still constant in Bokaro district during the past few days, the government data reveal. The district reported 139 new positive cases on Wednesday against 745 recorded on 7 May in a single-day surge.
The fresh, positive cases of coronavirus include 37 from Chas block area, 08 Kasmar block, 11 form Bermo, 02 Nawadih block, 02 from Gomia block, 02 from Petarwar, 05 from Chandankiyari block, and 72 positive cases have been recorded from Bokaro Steel City and other areas of the district, said AK Pathak Civil Surgeon Bokaro.
“All have been shifted to COVID Hospital, and contact tracing of all is being done,” he added.
The overall number of active cases in the district rushed to 1218 while the district’s death toll stands at 239, including 11 on Wednesday. Meanwhile, 181 patients were recovered and discharged from the hospital, said Pathak.
Around 3028 people were vaccinated across the district, in which 2287 got Covishield and 641 got Covaxin shots, informed Pathak.
Rajesh Kumar Singh, DC Bokaro said, “Everyone needs to be cautious; more security and vigilance are necessary.”
“Masks must be applied, follow social distance; wash your hands with soap at regular intervals. The best way is for all of you to be safe in your own homes,” he appealed.
