‘Run for Equality’— CTPS holds marathon to mark Ambedkar’s birth anniversary

RNS: ‘Run for Equality’— a marathon was organised by Chandrapur Thermal Power Station (CTPS) a unit of Damodar Valley Corporation, to mark 131 birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at Chandrapura in Bokaro on Thursday.

Several events and competitions were also organised in joint association with DVC, CTPS and EDCL. The employees of CTPS and EDCL paid floral tribute on the statue of Babasaheb and vowed to carry out their responsibilities and contribute to uplift society in a meaningful way.

Speaking on the occasion, Ajay Kumar Dutta, Chief Engineer and Head of the Project (HOP) CTPS said, “Man’s greatness is derived not from his birth or ancestry but rather from his deeds and accomplishments. Bharat Ratna Babasaheb has been set such a record.”

“We all should take note of this,” he added. We would be more effective in bringing society and country ahead if we exercised our rights and obligations correctly and positively, he said.

“Being born into a poor and backward family is not a crime, but we can achieve a high position through consistent efforts, education, right, and so on. Baba Saheb did the same, and there are many such persons in the country today who have ascended to high positions by their hard labour and dedication,” said Dutta adding, “We need to take inspiration from such great personalities.”

Chief Engineer O&M Sunil Kumar Pandey said that Baba Saheb is responsible for establishing numerous institutions like DVC in India. As a result, we as a country and culture have made great strides in the last several decades.

Kamta Prasad, the Deputy Chief Engineer, gave a detailed account of Baba Saheb’s life and added that his motivation is crucial for all of us to progress.

Badal Mahli, President of EDCL, and Dr. Laxman Soren, presided over the occasion.

Beside others, Deputy Chief Engineer SK Sharma, Deputy General Manager TT Das, Rakesh Ranjan, Gyan Singh, Dilip Kumar, Pramod Kumar Jha, Dr S Hembram, Dr B Sudarshan, Anil Kumar Singh, Bipin Sinha, Akshay Kumar, Ramji Rajak,  Umesh Sharma, Ramesh Rajak, Moti Majhi, Rakesh Ranjan, Mithilesh Chaudhary, Ravinder Chaudhary, Saryu Ravidas, Jaisu Ram, Kuljeet Kumar were present on occasion.
