RNS: To appreciate, acknowledge, encourage, merit, discipline and punctuality, DPS Chas organized “UTKARSH” the Felicitation ceremony, honouring the students for the session 2021-22. The students were felicitated with medals, trophies and certificates of appreciation. Kuldeep Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Bokaro graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, Ms.Prabla Xess, the District Education Officer, Bokaro was the Guest of Honour, other dignitaries were Dr. Hemlata S Mohan, the Chief Mentor of the school, N Maralidharan the Pro Vice Chairman, Deepali Bhuskute the Officiating Principal and Suresh Agarwal, Secretary, D S Memorial Society Chas and the Member of DPS, Chas.
The programme was initiated by invoking the lamp followed by the Welcome address and graceful rendition of the welcome song, and rhythmic presentation of the Rajesthani folk dance – Kalbelia. The presentations enhanced the charm of the occasion.
In the Felicitation Ceremony, 249 students in total were awarded gold medals, blue blazer, scholar badges, proficiency prizes and special prestigious awards.
The Chairman’s Trophy for the Best House was won by Chenab house. Hemant Kumar of Class XI and Khushi Kumari of Class XI were declared the ‘School Topper’ and Shrishti kumari of Class VI B(Jamuna) and Anushree Kundu Class III C received the Chairman’s Gold Medal for the ‘Best Scholar’ and Chairman’s Gold Medal for the Best Achiever respectively.
Hemant Kumar of Class XI was awarded Pro Vice Chairman’s Gold Medal for Head Boy while Khushi Kumari of Class XI got the Principal’s Gold Medal for Head Girl. Dr. Hemlata S Mohan Trophy for All Round best student was conferred upon Agrima Mukherjee of Class II B (Jamuna) in the Junior Group and APJ Abdul Kalam Trophy for All round best student was bestowed on Akshra Kumari of class VI B in the Senior Group.
Addressing the students, the Chief Guest stated that it is a privilege for the students to secure their place and study in an institution like DPS, Chas which made a niche in the world of education in a very short span of time.
Advocating the students as potential resource he asked them to utilise their time judiciously and strive for a balance between scholastic and co-scholastic activities, to learn and to channelise their best and not to surrender to the vices existing in the society.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Hemlata S Mohan congratulated the students for their meticulous performance and motivated them with her words of wisdom and blessings. She guided the students to tread on the path of sincerity and perseverance.
She said, “Every child is blessed with a unique talent and they have the ability to change the world. Undoubtedly, we are very fortunate to have a team of dedicated teachers who are contributing in shaping the leaders of tomorrow”.
She also congratulated the school for excellent performance in various exams and appraised the efforts of all. Officiating Principal, Deepali Bhuskute, DPS Chas appreciated the diligence and dedication of students and acknowledged the support and hand-holding of the parents.
She also emphasized that the school believes in fostering ethics and cultural values which is an integral part of holistic development. The programme was hosted by – Sanchita & Subh Raj of Class IX.
