Bokaro: DPS Bokaro organized ‘SRIJAN’-a three day summit comprising of Inter House Child Rights Project, Science Exhibition cum Competition, IT Competition and Quiz for the students of Classes VI to XII. Mr Dileep Pratap Singh Shekhawat (IAS), SDO Chas Bokaro was the Chief Guest of the occasion. M. P. Nayak, President, Science for Society (NCSC), Jharkhand, Rajendra Kumar, State Academic Coordinator, Jharkhand, S. K. Rai, District Coordinator, NCSC, S. P. Singh, State Resource Person, NCSC and P. R. K. Verma, Deputy General Secretary of Science for Society, Bokaro were the judges. The event was organized in Ashwaghosh Kala Kshetra today.
The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp. The topic for the science exhibition was ‘Science and Innovation’ while the topic for Child Rights Project was ‘Social, Emotional and Intellectual needs of Children after the COVID Pandemic’.
Shekhawat lauded the efforts of the students and advised them to be proactive and develop projects that will help society at large as science is the future of the country. No country can progress unless special attention is given to scientific innovations keeping in mind the common masses and rural population. Educational institutions should take initiatives like this to explore the scientific acumen of the students. Appreciating DPS Bokaro for providing a nurturing atmosphere for the holistic development of every child, he advised the students to make use of every opportunity provided.
On the first day of SRIJAN, models related to hologram technology, agriculture, urban beautification, the impact of pandemic, domestic safety etc. were exhibited.
A. S. Gangwar, Principal, DPS Bokaro, appreciated the innovative models prepared by the students. He said “Innovation is nothing more than refinement of everyday thinking. The more you question, the more you learn. So keep being curious and have the courage to bring in a positive change in this progressive world.”
