Flautist Chetan Joshi mesmerises students

RNS: DPS Chas, in association with Spic Macay, organised a classical folk instrumental programme led by globally acclaimed flautist Chetan Joshi and his ensemble. Chetan Joshi, a flautist, has made a name for himself in the music world with his spectacular performances and unique compositions. A rising star in the classical music world has also received numerous significant accolades.

Explaining his philosophy towards music to the students, Joshi said: “For me, music is about connecting with people and creating something that speaks to the heart.” I always make an effort to infuse my music with feeling and significance, regardless of whether I’m playing an old standard or creating something brand new.

The program aimed to expose students to different musical traditions and foster an appreciation for classical music. During the program, Joshi demonstrated the different sounds and techniques of the flute and performed pieces from his repertoire.

The students were enthusiastic and engaged throughout the program.

Dr Hemlata S. Mohan, Chief Mentor of DPS Chas, said classical music has numerous benefits, including improving cognitive function, reducing stress, and enhancing creativity. It also helps to develop discipline, concentration, and a sense of teamwork, which are essential skills for success in any field.

Deepali Bhuskute, Offg. Principal of DPS Chas said that events like these are essential for our school community, as they provide opportunities to come together and celebrate our shared interests and passions. It is inspiring to see how music can bring people from all walks of life together.
