# Dr Gangwar became president, Dr Jaideep became secretary of the Bokaro District Swimming Association
RNS: Dr A. S. Gangwar, Principal, Delhi Public School (DPS), Bokaro and Dr Jaideep Sarkar, Lead Officer, Global Active Partner City were nominated as President and Secretary respectively of the Bokaro District Swimming Association.
In a meeting of the association a new committee was formed to serve in the years 2023 through 2027; Rajan Kumar Singh, the DPS Bokaro administrator, has been appointed as treasurer.
Speaking on this occasion, Dr Gangwar said that the swimming association will take every possible step in the direction of giving new opportunities to the budding talents of Bokaro in the field of swimming and improving their future.
“Learning to swim is a crucial ability for kids and teens to have in case of an emergency where someone is in danger of drowning,” he urged.
He promised that the group will help spread the word about all the great swimming opportunities in the area.
Continuous efforts will be made by the association to encourage swimming-related competitions in Bokaro, said Dr Jaideep, the newly appointed secretary of the association.
Emphasizing organising the water polo game in Bokaro Jaideep said, well-qualified swimming instructors are also available here with all the resources for this.
“Along with swimming, there is a proposal to organize an attractive game like water polo in the coming days,” he added.
