DVC aims to 15000 MW power generation by 2030: Chairman

Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) is all set to play a lead role in power generation; mulling over achieving 15000 MW power generation by 2030.

Expressing confidence in DVC’s potential to lead the energy sector, Ramnaresh Singh, Chairman of DVC, revealed their ambitious goal of generating 15,000 MW of electricity by 2030.

Addressing a gathering at Chandrapur in Bokaro district of Jharkhand, Singh said, the government has given its approval, and DVC is working tirelessly to achieve this target within the next decade.

During a visit to the Chandrapura Thermal Power Station (CTPS)— a DVC unit, Singh hoisted the national flag at a 100-foot tower on Badam hill in Bokaro district, Jharkhand. In his address, he highlighted DVC’s significant contributions to the nation’s prosperity through its work in power generation, transmission, and distribution.

Singh emphasized the importance of unity and sacrifice for the betterment of the community and the country, encouraging everyone to move forward collectively and take actions that drive the nation’s progress.

Member Secretary Dr John Mathai acknowledges DVC’s diligent efforts to serve the country and society, explicitly highlighting their leading role in nationwide electricity generation. He also shares the joyous news of DVC acquiring the Tubed Coal Mines in Jharkhand and commencing coal production.

DVC is actively engaged in various projects, continually improving its performance across all areas, he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Member Technical M. Raghuram appeals to everyone to set aside their differences and continue contributing to the growth process.

Before the ceremony, the Chairman receives a guard of honour from Central Industrial Security Force members at the director’s building. The Chairman inaugurates Love CTPS, CMA Institute, and Tejas Bhawan, followed by a meeting with officials.

The Senior General Manager and Project Head, Sunil Kumar Pandey coordinated the ceremony.

Besides others, Member Finance Arup Sarkar, Executive Director Rakesh Ranjan, Ajay Kumar Dutta, Sanjay Ghosh, Senior General Manager Subhash Singh, NK Chaudhary, Sunil Kumar Pandey, PP Shah, Devbrat Das, PK Mishra, Deputy General Manager Administration TT Das, PC Sahu, KK Singh, Priyadarshi, Preeti Jai Choudhary, Dilip Kumar, AK Chandrashekhar, Badal Mahali were present there.
