RNS: With a noble mission to foster a deeper connection between students and Mother Earth, the vibrant community of DPS Chas came together to celebrate Friendship Day (Maitri Bandhan) uniquely and environmentally consciously.
Hundreds of students gathered to commemorate the presence of friends in their lives by tying colourful friendship bands to plants and trees.
Friendship Day is always a joyous occasion, but this year, the students of DPS Chas in Bokaro decided to make it truly unforgettable. They creatively crafted friendship bands using various materials, including beads, threads, wool, silk, and ribbons. These bands symbolise the cherished memories, invaluable connections, and enduring bonds that unite them.
However, the celebration did not stop there; the students took this opportunity to cultivate gratitude towards nature. They lovingly tied friendship bands to saplings they had planted during “Earth Day – Sankalp Taru.” By doing so, they recognised trees as our best friends and aimed to spread environmental awareness.
This meaningful activity has impacted the students, instilling a sense of responsibility and appreciation for nature. As they witnessed the tying of friendship bands to the saplings they had planted, they understood the significance of nurturing and caring for their green companions.
“Plant a Tree, Gift a Tree” is a powerful message from this beautiful celebration. The students of DPS Chas have strengthened their bonds with each other and sown seeds of compassion and responsibility towards the environment.
This memorable event will remain etched in their hearts as they cherish the gifts of friendship and nature.
