RNS: Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU), Israel, is now inviting applications for its Master’s program in Hydrology and Water Quality for its fall 2023 session.
The program is led by the Albert Katz International School for Desert Studies (AKIS) located on the Sde Boker Campus of BGU.
With cutting-edge technology and regulations for the sustainable use of water resources, this program aims to improve human life in drylands by introducing students to revolutionary research and graduate education in the water sciences.
The program offers studies in the tracks of Water Resources, Desalination and Water Treatment, and Microbiology and Water Quality, including water production, estimation of surface and underground water and solute movement, chemical and biochemical evaluation of underground water and contaminants, operations research, optimization of water systems and more.
This 2-year program is taught completely in English. Students will be required to complete 42 credits, including 12 Research Project credits. Applications are now being accepted for the 2023 session.
The academic year is generally October – July. For admission:- Students must meet the minimum requirements for admission to the Albert Katz International School for Desert Studies; Students without an appropriate background who are interested in enrolling in the M.Sc. degree in Hydrology and Water Quality program will have an individual curriculum tailored for them by the teaching committee with supplementary courses; Students with a B.A. will have to complete a set of required courses before enrolling in the program; Applicants are expected to contact by e-mail one or more potential supervisors with whom they would like to work on their thesis.
Meanwhile, the tuition fee is approximately $5000 per year, though scholarships for Tuition and Cost of Living Scholarships are available for excellent students.
