RNS: Delhi Public School Chas observed Hindi Day with enthusiasm and reverence, paying homage to the language that has long served as a binding force for the nation. The event featured readings and remembrances of the works of poets and literary figures that played pivotal roles in shaping Hindi’s identity in India.
Dr Hemlata S. Mohan, the Chief Mentor of DPS Chas, delivered a poignant address highlighting the unifying power of the Hindi language. She emphasized that Hindi has played a significant role in India’s freedom struggle and eloquently showcases the country’s diverse beauty.
“Hindi has assimilated numerous languages and dialects, making it an easily accessible language understood across the nation,” she added.
Dr Hemlata expressed the collective aspiration for Hindi to attain the status of a national language, recognizing its potential to foster unity.
Speaking on the ocassion, Dr Hemlata shared excerpts from the literary work “Haldighati” by Shyam Narayan Pandey, conveying a message of perseverance and the pursuit of success through hard work. She further underscored that the progress of any society is intricately linked to the advancement of its language.
Deepali Bhuskute, the school’s acting principal, underlined the importance of language in fostering dialogue and the exchange of ideas throughout society. She remarked that Hindi has done an amazing job at meeting this critical societal demand.
Naveen Sharma, the School Director, acknowledged the contributions of poets and literary figures whose native language was not Hindi but who made significant contributions to the promotion of the Hindi language. He paid tribute to luminaries like Dayanand Saraswati and Mahatma Gandhi, both of whom played active roles in the dissemination of Hindi.
During the event, teachers Archana Kumari, Chhaya Dwivedi, and Aarti Sharma, together with teachers Vidya Bhushan and Virendra Singh, recalled the great poets of India, such as Amir Khusro, Bharatendu Harishchandra, Sumitra Nandan Pant, Premchand, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, and Jaishankar Prasad, by reading excerpts from their works.
