Oscar’s nominated movie “Champaran Mutton” screening honours Bokaro

Bokaro: The first screening of “Champaran Mutton,” a movie nominated for an Oscar, unfolded at the Bokaro Club with seamless orchestration by Kumar Atul, Director of SmartPrep Academy, adding prestige to the event.

“Champaran Mutton Movie,” a diploma short film, has made history by becoming the first-ever Bajjika language film to reach the semi-finals of the Student Academy Awards, an offshoot of the prestigious Oscars.

The film centers around Ramesh, a young man from Bihar, who grapples with the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic while working in a private job. The storyline revolves around his determination to fulfill his pregnant wife’s desire for mutton, despite facing significant financial and social obstacles after losing his job.

The screening event, orchestrated by SmartPrep Academy, aimed to provide a welcome break and entertainment for weary JEE aspirants. It drew participation from Education Directors, Deputy General Managers, Assistant General Managers, and school principals from across Bokaro Cell.

“Champaran Mutton Movie” has not only captivated audiences with its compelling narrative but has also earned the distinction of representing the Bajjika language on an international stage, a remarkable achievement for the film and its creators.
