JAC delegation meets Governor, urges action against corruption

Ranchi: In a determined effort to combat corruption and uphold ethical governance, a delegation from the Jharkhand Against Corruption (JAC) organization recently met with the Governor and presented a comprehensive memorandum outlining key demands.

The meeting, held at the Raj Bhavan, saw the delegation engage in a productive dialogue with the Governor, who expressed his commitment to address their concerns and take appropriate actions.

The four-point memorandum submitted by JAC underscores the organization’s unwavering dedication to exposing and combating corruption within the state.

The memorandum highlighted the pivotal role played by the organization in bringing to light numerous scandals that have rocked the state, leading to the prosecution of corrupt officials, including former Chief Ministers and ministers.

In the memorandum, the JAC emphasised the need for strict anti-corruption measures in Jharkhand. They proposed a High Court team to probe big governmental corruption cases; Unregulated mineral extraction and deforestation in many state districts prompted environmental concerns. The delegation urged the government to intervene and fix these issues; The communication stressed the need to speed promotions for Jharkhand government employees in various departments. The delegation contended that such acts would promote morale, work efficiency, and employee finances and the delegation encouraged all complainants to submit legal applications to promote openness in state police stations. This measure promotes police accountability and integrity.

Additionally, the delegation sought the Governor’s support in elevating Chhatarpur in Palamu district to district status, a move that would contribute to the area’s development.

Durga Oraon “Munda,” President of JAC, emphasized the organization’s longstanding commitment to combating corruption and its detrimental effects on the state. He reiterated that their fight against corruption would persist.

In response to the memorandum, the Governor assured the delegation that he would promptly direct the state government to take positive and concrete steps to address the concerns outlined.

This significant step by Jharkhand Against Corruption highlights the ongoing efforts to eliminate corruption, promote transparency, and ensure good governance within the state.
