“ESL Steel Introduces Gynaecological Consultation at Dhandabar Health Centre”

Bokaro: ESL Steel Limited, a unit of Vedanta Group, has reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to community and societal development. Recognized with numerous accolades from both national and international governmental bodies and NGOs, ESL Steel Limited has consistently prioritized the well-being of the communities in which it operates.

As part of its ongoing efforts to contribute to the welfare of the communities it serves, ESL Steel Limited places significant emphasis on healthcare as a fundamental aspect of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

Under its flagship healthcare program, Project AAROGYA, conducted in collaboration with the Citizens Foundation and in coordination with the District Health Department, the company has successfully transformed a previously non-functional Primary Health Centre in Dhandabar into a thriving healthcare facility.

Through Project AAROGYA, ESL Steel Limited tirelessly provides essential healthcare services to over 100 villagers on a daily basis. These services are delivered through the Dhandabar Primary Health Centre, a mobile health unit that serves all 27 surrounding villages, and special health camps catering to individuals of all ages, including children, youth, women, men, and the elderly.

This impactful healthcare initiative has earned widespread appreciation from the local community and has become a lifeline for those it serves.

In a significant move to further enhance healthcare provisions for women and adolescent girls in the community, ESL’s CSR initiative, Project AAROGYA, has introduced gynecological consultation services at the Dhandabar Primary Health Centre. Dr. Jyoti Gupta, a senior gynecologist and Infertility specialist with over 25 years of experience, has committed to fortnightly visits to the centre.

Her focus will be on preventing gynaecological diseases and promoting women’s health in the region.

This gynaecological initiative goes beyond treatment, offering free medicines and diagnostic tests within the healthcare center. The impact of this initiative has been substantial, drawing praise from various stakeholders. In just three visits, more than 100 women have availed themselves of Dr. Gupta’s services, receiving proper guidance and free medications.

Ashish Ranjan, Head of CSR, ER & PR at ESL Steel Limited, expressed the company’s unwavering commitment to transforming the community in its immediate vicinity. He stated, “Project AAROGYA demonstrates our dedication to recognizing and addressing the specific needs of the community, which led us to initiate this project.”

“Driven by the vision of holistic well-being, we strive to empower lives through accessible healthcare, creating a positive ripple effect in the villages we serve,” he added.

Project AAROGYA is not just a healthcare initiative; it’s a testament to our dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we touch, fostering healthier and happier communities.
