EC Changes Counting Date Of Sikkim & Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Polls To 2 June 2024

RNS I New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has amended the date of vote counting for the Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim Assembly elections from June 4 to June 2.

The ECI had previously announced the schedule for the Legislative Assemblies of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim, along with the schedule for the General Election to Lok Sabha-2024 and various State Legislative Assemblies.

Both Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim are scheduled to vote on April 19, 2024.

The term of both the Legislative Assemblies of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim was set to expire on June 4, 2024. However, in light of this, the Commission has decided to amend the schedule, with the new date for vote counting being June 2, 2024.

The Commission clarified that there will be no change in the schedule for Parliamentary Constituencies of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.

Arunachal Pradesh has 60 assembly constituencies, while the Sikkim Assembly has 32 constituencies.
