Ranchi: Jharkhand Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan took additional charge as Telangana governor this morning at a function at Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad.
The oath of office was administered by Telangana High Court Chief Justice Alok Aradhe. The event was attended by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, several ministers, public representatives, and senior officials.
In a parallel development, Tamilisai Soundarajan, who recently resigned as the Governor of Telangana, has rejoined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tamil Nadu. Soundarajan submitted her resignation as Telangana Governor and Puducherry Lieutenant Governor on March 18, which was officially accepted by President Droupadi Murmu.
Soundarajan was welcomed back into the BJP by party president K Annamalai at the party’s headquarters ‘Kamalalayam’ in Chennai.
Speaking at a press conference, Soundarajan expressed her happiness at returning to serve the party, describing it as a difficult but fulfilling decision. She also expressed confidence in the BJP’s prospects in Tamil Nadu, stating, “Lotus will blossom in Tamil Nadu for sure.”
A gynaecologist by profession, the 62-year-old Soundarajan had originally joined the BJP over 20 years ago. She had left the party in 2019 to take up the role of Telangana Governor and later served as the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry in 2021.
