“Hello from the Melodi Team”: Giorgia Meloni, Narendra Modi Share Greetings from Italy

New Delhi: “Hello from the Melodi team,” said Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, taking a selfie with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Italy, giving a nod to the netizens who affectionately refer to the duo as “Melodi.”

In a video shared on her X handle, Meloni greeted followers with, “Hi friends, from #Melodi.” The video featured both Prime Ministers smiling and waving at the camera, capturing a moment of camaraderie.

A viral picture accompanying the video showed Meloni clicking a selfie with Modi, both leaders beaming. The snapshot evoked memories of their popular selfie at the COP28 Climate Summit in Dubai, which also captured widespread attention.

On the diplomatic front, Modi held bilateral talks with Meloni on Friday, describing their meeting as “good” and focused on strengthening ties between India and Italy. Modi expressed gratitude to Meloni for inviting him to the G7 Summit, where India participated as an Outreach country.

The bilateral discussions covered various areas of mutual interest, including commerce, energy, defence, and telecommunications. Modi highlighted the future cooperation between India and Italy in sectors such as biofuels, food processing, and critical minerals. In an X post, he stated, “Our nations will work together in futuristic areas like biofuels, food processing, and critical minerals.”

Meloni’s warm welcome and the subsequent interactions between the two leaders underscore the growing partnership between Italy and India, marking a significant moment in their diplomatic relations.
