India’s Nuclear Power Generation Capacity to Increase by 70% in Next Five Years

New Delhi: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh announced today that India’s nuclear power generation capacity is set to increase by around 70 percent over the next five years. This optimistic projection was made during a high-level meeting in New Delhi to review the Department of Atomic Energy’s 100-day Action Plan.

Dr. Singh emphasized India’s advancements in nuclear and renewable energy, noting significant progress in the nation’s energy landscape. He also reviewed the status of currently operational projects and provided guidance for future initiatives.

This substantial increase in nuclear power capacity aligns with India’s broader goals of enhancing energy security and sustainability.
