Reliance Jio Announces New Unlimited Plans and Expands Digital Offerings

Mumbai: Effective from July 3, Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd., India’s largest telecom carrier, unveiled its latest unlimited plans, reaffirming its commitment to providing affordable internet and expanding its rapidly growing 5G network, which now covers approximately 85% of the country’s 5G cells.

The new tariff plans range from Rs 189 for 2 GB per month to Rs 3,599 for 2.5 GB per day annually. Notably, all plans offering 2 GB per day or more include unlimited 5G access.

Customers will see the largest price increase in the longest-validity plans, with the annual Rs 2,999 bundle now costing Rs 3,599, a Rs 600 hike. The smallest price rise is in the cheapest plan, which now costs Rs 155 for 28 days, up by Rs 34.

Reliance Jio emphasized that its “True 5G” network delivers higher speeds and lower latency compared to non-standalone 5G networks. The company has been instrumental in increasing internet consumption and smartphone penetration in India, compelling competitors to lower prices and enhance their data offerings.

To further expand its digital ecosystem, Jio introduced JioSafe and JioTranslate. JioSafe offers secure talking, messaging, and file transfer for Rs 199 per month, while JioTranslate, priced at Rs 99 per month, uses AI to translate voice calls, texts, and images into multiple languages. Both apps are being offered free for a year, enhancing Jio’s value proposition.

Akash M Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, stated, “The introduction of new plans is a step towards furthering industry innovation and driving sustainable growth through investments in 5G and AI technology. Digital India relies on ubiquitous, high-quality, affordable internet, which Jio is proud to provide. Jio will always prioritize India and its customers and invest in India.”
