Doha: Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with Qatar’s Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani on Sunday to discuss and review the bilateral relationship between India and Qatar.
In a post on X, Jaishankar expressed his pleasure at meeting with Qatar’s leaders and conveyed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s greetings and warm wishes to the Amir of Qatar. He emphasized that the discussions focused on strengthening ties in various sectors including politics, trade, investment, energy, technology, culture, and people-to-people connections.
Jaishankar also appreciated the Qatari Prime Minister’s insights on the ongoing conflict in Gaza, which has intensified since Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7, followed by Israel’s military response.
The Indian Minister expressed optimism about further enhancing India-Qatar relations and continuing dialogue on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
Jaishankar’s visit to Qatar was part of his diplomatic efforts to bolster international relationships and address significant global concerns.
