PM Narendra Modi Set for Two-Day Diplomatic Tour Across Russia, Austria

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to embark on a significant diplomatic journey starting from the 8th of this month, marking a pivotal visit to Russia followed by Austria. The External Affairs Ministry confirmed that PM Modi’s visit to Moscow has been extended at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, with the primary focus being the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit.

During his stay in Moscow, Prime Minister Modi and President Putin are slated to engage in high-level discussions encompassing contemporary regional and global issues of mutual concern. This summit underscores the enduring strategic partnership between India and Russia.

Following his engagements in Russia, PM Modi will proceed to Austria on the 9th of the month, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the country in over four decades.

The visit underscores India’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with Austria under the leadership of President Alexander Van der Bellen and Chancellor Karl Nehammer.

In Austria, Prime Minister Modi and Chancellor Nehammer are set to participate in talks aimed at bolstering diplomatic relations and fostering economic cooperation. Additionally, they will jointly address business leaders from both nations, highlighting opportunities for enhanced collaboration.

Throughout his tour, Prime Minister Modi is also scheduled to engage with the vibrant Indian diaspora communities in Moscow and Vienna, underscoring the importance of people-to-people ties in India’s diplomatic efforts.

The upcoming visit underscores India’s proactive diplomatic outreach in enhancing bilateral ties and promoting mutual interests across key regions.
