Mega Plantation Drive at IIT-ISM Nirsa Campus Promotes Environmental Conservation

Dhanbad: A significant plantation initiative took place at the Nirsa Campus of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad as part of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, where more than 1000 saplings of various species including Pipal, Neem, Mango, Palash, Jamun, Mahua, and Karanj were planted.

Led by Professor Sukumar Mishra, Director of IIT (ISM), the drive commenced in the morning and was organized by the Horticulture Section of the Office of Dean (Infrastructure) in collaboration with EIACP (PC-RP) and the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering.

The objective of the initiative was to raise awareness about environmental conservation and emphasize the importance of protecting our planet.

Key figures present during the plantation drive included Professor Dheeraj Kumar, Deputy Director, Professor Rajni Singh, Dean (Corporate Communications), Professor Amit Dixit, Professor Alok Kumar Sinha, Head of ESE, Professor Anshumali, Professor SK Maiti, and Prabodh Pandey, Registrar.

This initiative underscores IIT (ISM)’s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship, aiming to contribute positively towards a greener future.
