Bokaro: Today marks a significant milestone for Bokaro General Hospital as it successfully conducted its inaugural CT coronary angiogram on Wednesday.
This cutting-edge, non-invasive procedure was carried out using the hospital’s newly installed 128-slice CT scanner.
The procedure, led by a team of proficient doctors, was witnessed by Dr. BB Karunamay, Chief Medical Officer of Bokaro General Hospital.
Dr. Karunamay highlighted the importance of the CT coronary angiogram, emphasizing its ability to detect heart blockages and closely examine heart-related arteries without the need for invasive measures.
Dr. Priyanka Jain, Head of the Radiology Department at BGH, expressed her enthusiasm about the introduction of this diagnostic capability at the hospital, underscoring its significance for the local community.
She explained that the CT coronary angiogram will now be offered on an outpatient basis at BGH, enabling prompt diagnosis of blockages, plaques, or congenital coronary abnormalities affecting the heart’s blood vessels.
