CSIR-NML Hosts Four-Day Corporate Training Program on Mineral Processing

Jamshedpur: CSIR – National Metallurgical Laboratory (CSIR-NML) inaugurated a four-day corporate training program, MCBA-2024, focused on Mineral Characterization, Beneficiation, and Agglomeration.

The training, organized by the Mineral Processing Department, commenced with a welcome address from Director Dr. Sandip Ghosh Chowdhury, who emphasized the program’s role in fostering innovation and enhancing quality in both the industry and environmental sectors.

Dr. Chowdhury highlighted the significant contributions of mineral processing in India and the importance of integrating new technologies for improved recovery and sustainability in the mineral sector.

Dr. S. Sivaprasad, Head of Human Resources, welcomed the participants from various Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) plants and expressed optimism about new technical collaborations and industrial partnerships advancing technological development in the mineral processing field.

Dr. Shobhana De, Head of the Department of Mineral Processing, underscored the synergy between science and industry, noting that neither can progress effectively in isolation.

Program Coordinator Dr. Ranjit Kumar Singh outlined the schedule for the training, which includes two daily sessions from July 23 to July 26. The first session will feature lectures by scientists on relevant topics, while the second session will involve practical demonstrations in a large-scale experimental plant.

The successful organization of the program involved key contributions from Mineral Processing Department scientists, including Dr. Manoj Kumar Mohanta, Dr. Rajendra Kumar Rath, Dr. Ari Vidyadhar, Ajit Swain, Dr. Ganesh Chalvadi, Abhishek Kumar, Kalicharan Hembram, and Abhijeet Manasingh, along with all technical officers.
