BSL, IOC joins hands for City Gas Pipeline Expansion

Bokaro: Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL) and Indian Oil Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand and advanced the installation of a city gas pipeline network in the Township area of Bokaro Steel City.

The agreement, formalized on Wednesday, marks a major step toward expanding gas supply infrastructure for both domestic and commercial consumers.

The MoU was signed in the presence of BSL Director-in-Charge BK Tiwari, Executive Director (HR and Additional Charge Operations) Rajan Prasad, Chief General Manager (City Administration) Kundan Kumar, Chief General Manager (Technical) Laxmi Das, General Manager (City Administration) AK Singh, and Senior Manager (City Administration) N. Siddiqui and the representatives from Indian Oil Corporation, including Executive Director (CGD) Sanjay Kumar Jha, Chief General Manager (CGD) Shailesh Kumar Singh, and General Manager (CGD) Chinmay Guha Biswas.

Ahead of the BSL’s August 2020 grant of permission to Indian Oil Corporation for the installation of City Gas Distribution (CGD) pipelines and related infrastructure in the township area this agreement follows, informed an official.

With this agreement, the rollout of PNG (Piped Natural Gas) connections for homes and CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) facilities for vehicles is set to proceed at an accelerated pace.

The new pipeline network is expected to provide a safe, economical, and eco-friendly fuel option, known for its high calorific value and reduced carbon footprint; represents a significant enhancement to the region’s energy infrastructure, promising both environmental and economic benefits.
