Ranchi: Jharkhand Tribal and Backward Classes Welfare Minister Deepak Birua has pledged to resolve issues affecting teachers following a meeting with the Jharkhand Pradesh Sayunkt Sikshak Morcha delegation.
The teachers appealed for the implementation of MACP (Augmented Assured Career Advancement) benefits for primary, secondary, and higher secondary school educators in the state.
Amin Ahmed, state convenor of the Morcha, and spokesperson Arun Kumar Das expressed confidence in Birua’s commitment to addressing the teachers’ demands, citing his previous advocacy for education and teacher welfare.
Birua has previously raised the MACP issue in the assembly and has been proactive in tackling educational challenges, including salary discrepancies from the Sixth Pay Commission, school management issues, retirement age adjustments, and NGO interference in education.
The Minister assured that he would advocate for these demands with the Chief Minister, aiming to secure economic upliftment and other necessary reforms for teachers. The delegation included key representatives such as Amin Ahmed, Vijay Bahadur Singh, Arun Kumar Das, Ashutosh Kumar, and Mohd. Fakhruddin.
