Dhanbad: Dr. D.K. Singh, President of the Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University Teachers Association, has formally staked his claim for the Dhanbad Assembly seat. At a recent gathering at the District Congress office, Singh presented his bid to Dhanbad District Congress President Santosh Singh, supported by a substantial group of well-wishers including university and college teachers, advocates, social workers, and Congress and NSUI members.
In his address, Dr. Singh emphasized his 12 years of political and social activism, expressing confidence that his candidacy could secure the seat for the Congress party. He highlighted his deep-rooted connection to Dhanbad, noting his familial ties to the coal industry and his extensive work in the city’s educational institutions over the past 16 years.
Singh outlined his vision for Dhanbad, which includes transforming the city into an educational hub, creating employment opportunities, reclaiming essential infrastructure projects like AIIMS and an airport, and advancing women’s empowerment. He also committed to enhancing basic facilities and driving development in both urban and rural areas.
The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Dr. Krishna Murari, Dr. G. Yan Mishra, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Dr. Jitendra Aryan, Dr. Mashuf Ahmed, Prof. D.K. Jha, District Congress General Secretary Sanjay Jaiswal, and other local leaders and activists.
