New Delhi: The Cabinet Committee on Security has given the green light for the acquisition of 240 aero-engines for the Indian Air Force’s Su-30 MKI aircraft. The approval, granted under the Buy (Indian) category, involves a deal with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) valued at over ₹26,000 crore, including taxes and duties.

The Ministry of Defence announced that the delivery of these engines is set to commence in one year and will be completed over the following eight years.
