No-Fly Zones Enforced for President’s Visit; Drones, Aerial Activities Banned in Ranchi

Ranchi: In anticipation of the President’s visit to Ranchi on 19th and 20th September 2024, stringent security measures have been implemented. The Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi has issued directives prohibiting drones, paragliding, and hot air balloons, as well as other related aerial activities, in the vicinity of the Raj Bhavan and the event locations.

The Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Sadar, Ranchi, has declared these areas as No Drone Zones, employing powers under Section 163 of the BNSS. The restrictions will be in effect from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on both days, said an official.

Particularly, the No Fly Zone will cover: The route from Birsa Munda Airport to Hinoo Chowk, Birsa Chowk, Argora Chowk, and Raj Bhavan on 19 September and on 20 September, the route from Raj Bhavan to Argora Chowk, via Kadru, Rajendra Chowk, Sadabahar Chowk, and extending to a radius of 200 meters around the ICAR National Institute of Secondary Agriculture, Tata Road, Namkum.

This comprehensive ban is aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the President during the visit, with enforcement to prevent any aerial disturbances in these specified zones.
