One more death in Jharkhand Excise Constable Recruitment Physical Test; Death toll climbs to 14

Jamshedpur: A tragic incident occurred on Saturday morning as another candidate participating in the Jharkhand Excise Constable recruitment drive passed away. The latest fatality brings the total number of deaths associated with this recruitment process to 14.

The deceased, identified as Muramulla Suraya, also known as Bala, was a resident of Burmamines in Jamshedpur. He succumbed to illness early on Saturday at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), following an intense physical fitness test.

Bala, in his early twenties, participated in a rigorous running test on Thursday afternoon and successfully completed it.

However, by the evening, he fell gravely ill and was rushed to RIMS for emergency medical treatment. Despite receiving urgent care, Bala could not recover and passed away around 5 a.m. on Saturday.

Following the death of 13 other candidates earlier, the recruitment test had been temporarily suspended for five days. The authorities have since informed Bala’s family of his passing, prompting them to travel to Ranchi immediately.

Bala was the eldest of three sons and contributed to his family’s income through various small jobs. His death marks a somber moment in the ongoing recruitment process.
