Shankh Air Receives Government Approval to Launch Operations

New Delhi: Shankh Air, India’s newest airline (UP-based), has secured approval from the Civil Aviation Ministry, marking a significant step toward commencing its operations. However, the airline still requires clearance from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) before it can officially begin flights, reported different media.

As the first scheduled airline to emerge from Uttar Pradesh, Shankha Air plans to establish its operational bases in Lucknow and Noida. The airline aims to connect major cities across India, focusing on both interstate and intrastate routes, especially in regions experiencing high demand but limited direct flight options.

In the approval letter, the Civil Aviation Ministry emphasized the need for Shankha Air to comply with relevant regulations, including those related to foreign direct investment (FDI) and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The no-objection certificate (NOC) granted to the airline is valid for three years.

The launch of Shankha Air is anticipated to enhance connectivity in areas with limited air travel options, thereby boosting regional mobility across India.
