Bokaro: Vedanta ESL Steel Limited has received 7 Par-Excellence and 2 Excellence Awards at the 32nd Chapter Convention on Quality Concepts 2024 (CCQC 2024), hosted by the Bokaro Chapter of the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI).
The company participated with 9 entries, all of which secured awards, including a Quality Circle Category entry that achieved Par Excellence in its inaugural participation.
QCFI’s 32nd Chapter Convention on Quality Concepts 2024
QCFI aims for the holistic development of human individuals who unleash their creative potential given an opportunity and empowerment. QCFI in its 4-decade-long journey has seen a quantum rise in first-line employees in multiple organizations who have been effectively trained to levels where they can reach their full potential.
With the theme “Investing in people, Building a better future”, the two-day mega event held at the Bokaro Club and Bokaro Steel Plant’s Learning & Development Centre was attended by QCFI’s Institutional, Life, Individual, and QC members in large numbers. The theme aligned with the QCFI’s primary purpose of “People building philosophy” and its primary activity of “Developing people” through training on various quality concepts and handholding.
Vedanta’s participation in CCQC 2024
Vedanta ESL Steel Limited emerged with flying colours at the convention which saw the participation of 60 teams from five mega organisations including Tata Motors, BSL, Gabriel, and ITC apart from Vedanta ESL. The teams were showcasing their innovative projects and quality improvement initiatives and were awarded for their entries with Par-Excellence, Excellence, and Distinguished awards.
The Convention also saw Meenakshi Sabharwal (Chief Quality & Business Excellence Officer, ESL Steel Limited) and Ms. A Lavanya (Head, Central Planning Cell, ESL Steel Limited) being invited as Judges, which underlines Vedanta ESL’s leadership in quality initiatives within the industry.

When there was an internal call for entries for CCQC 2024, various departments at Vedanta ESL Steel submitted their nominations. Since there was an overwhelming number of nominations they were evaluated and finally only 9 entries could make a mark when meticulously evaluated by a panel led by Ms. Meenakshi Sabharwal (Chief Quality & Business Excellence Officer) and Mr. Vinay Bhushan Kumar (Head, Business Excellence).
