DPS Chas Students Embark on an Educational Journey to Rajasthan

Bokaro: Thirty-five students from DPS Chas, spanning classes V to XI, recently embarked on a nine-day educational journey to the historic cities of Jodhpur and Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. This immersive trip provided students with the opportunity to step outside their traditional classroom environment and delve into the rich history, vibrant culture, and adventurous spirit of the desert state.

More than mere sightseeing, the excursion highlighted the significance of educational tours in cultivating independence, responsibility, and cultural awareness among students. Guided by their teachers, participants explored iconic landmarks such as Jaisalmer Fort, Mehrangarh Fort, Patwon Ki Haveli, and Umaid Bhawan Palace. In addition to historical insights, activities like camel rides and jeep safaris showcased the region’s stunning natural beauty. This combination of adventure and education fostered essential skills, including time management, budgeting, and teamwork.

Chief Mentor Dr. Hemlata S. Mohan underscored the tremendous value of such educational experiences, noting that they encourage critical thinking and the development of vital life skills. Headmistress Ms. Sudeshna Sinha echoed these sentiments, emphasizing how the tours enhance students’ understanding of India’s diverse cultures and traditions.

The excitement among students was palpable. Sagar Kumar Soni and Aditya Kashyap from Class 11 shared their thrill at experiencing historic sites they had previously only read about, describing it as a dream come true. Class 9 student Garvit Kumar found the tour both exhilarating and enlightening. Even the younger attendees were deeply impacted; Dinesh Mahato from Class 5 expressed his joy in learning about the forts’ histories and the thrill of riding a camel through the desert.

Educational trips like this play a crucial role in holistic learning, helping students grow both academically and personally, while providing lasting memories and experiences that extend far beyond the confines of textbooks.
