US Presidential Election: Harris and Trump in a Heated Final Stretch

Washington, DC: The race for the U.S. Presidency is heating up as the election approaches in just over two weeks, with Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump locked in a tight contest, according to  recent media reports.

Recent polling shows a competitive landscape, with Harris leading in some surveys and Trump ahead in others, particularly in key swing states.

A CNBC poll indicates Trump at 48% and Harris at 46% among registered voters, while a Wall Street Journal poll shows Trump leading 47% to 45%. Conversely, a Monmouth University poll finds Harris ahead 47% to 44%.

Polling data from HarrisX/Forbes shows Trump leading among likely voters 51% to 49%, but other surveys like the Economist/YouGov and Morning Consult indicate Harris has slight edges.

Since her candidacy announcement in July, Harris has regained momentum after initially trailing, though her lead has diminished from a peak of 3.7 points in late August.

Current forecasts suggest Trump has a 51% chance of winning compared to Harris’s 49%, reflecting the highly competitive nature of the upcoming election.
