Jalandhar: In a groundbreaking achievement, 20-year-old Rachel Gupta from India has been crowned Miss Grand International 2024, becoming the first Indian to secure this prestigious title. She earned the honor among 69 contestants during the finale held at the MGI Hall of Bravo BKK Mall in Bangkok, Thailand.
Rachel triumphed over the favorite from the Philippines, CJ Opiaza, to clinch the crown. The title was awarded to her by last year’s winner, Luciana Fuster from Peru, while Filipino model Christine Juliane Opiaza was named the first runner-up.
Born in Jalandhar, Rachel Gupta’s victory marks a significant moment for India in the beauty pageant arena, establishing a new identity for the nation.
