DPS Bokaro Students Light Up Diwali for Elderly at Care Home

Bokaro: In a heartwarming display of community spirit, students from DPS Bokaro, accompanied by Principal Dr. A.S. Gangwar, visited the Old Age Care Home in Chas on Thursday to celebrate Diwali with the elderly residents. This initiative is part of the school’s commitment to service and community outreach.

The students, along with their teachers from Classes XI and XII, were warmly welcomed by Ranjit Kumar Das, the manager of the care home, and Deepali Mahato, a dedicated member of the facility, alongside the senior citizens. The visit aimed to bring cheer and happiness to the elderly, embodying the true essence of the festival of lights.

As part of the celebrations, the school team distributed personal hygiene kits, luggage bags, fruits, and sweets to the residents. They also lit candles and diyas, filling the air with festive joy. Students spent quality time interacting with the elderly, sharing stories and laughter, which brought smiles to their faces.

In a gesture of appreciation, members of the Old Age Care Home presented Principal Dr. Gangwar with a memento and a shawl. Dr. Gangwar emphasized the importance of such initiatives, encouraging schools and parents to instill values of love, care, and compassion in young people. He praised the efforts of the Baba Baidyanath Jan Sewa Samiti, the organization that operates the care home, highlighting their dedication to the well-being of the residents.
