Bokaro: Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro’s basketball team emerged victorious in the Inter-DPS Basketball Tournament (Boys) 2024, East Zone, defeating DPS Megacity, Kolkata, 30-7 in the final. The tournament, held at DPS Ruby Park in Kolkata, saw 15 teams from across the eastern region compete, with DPS Bokaro displaying exceptional skill and teamwork throughout the competition.
The DPS Bokaro team dominated their group matches, securing convincing wins against DPS Asansol, DPS Siliguri, and DPS Fulbari to advance to the quarter-finals. In the quarter-finals, they triumphed over DPS Gaya with a 27-21 victory, continuing their strong performance into the semi-finals. There, they defeated the host team, DPS Ruby Park, 47-15, to book their place in the final.
The final match saw DPS Bokaro showcase their exceptional dribbling, defense, and sportsmanship, culminating in a commanding 30-7 win over DPS Megacity to claim the championship title.
Principal Dr. A. S. Gangwar congratulated the team, attributing their success to their rigorous practice, dedication, and excellent teamwork. He also extended his best wishes for the upcoming National Championship.
The victorious team was led by Captain Mrityunjay Rapaj and Vice Captain Aditya Raj Chauhan, with Aditya Kumar Singh earning the title of Best Player of the Tournament. Other team members included Aryan Singh, Aditya Arya, Arunoday Singh, Mridul Aman, Sriyesh Kumar, Chetan Rajput, Siddhant Tripathi, Pritam Ghosh, and Ritesh Kumar.
