Lucknow: The search for the new president of the Uttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is progressing rapidly. The BJP is working on a strategy to build a strong social engineering framework through its organization in Uttar Pradesh, and it is expected that the party high command will appoint a leader from the Dalit or women’s community to the position of state president.

This is aimed at balancing BJP’s representation across all castes and communities. In a meeting held on November 27, National Co-Election Officer Naresh Bansal stated that all castes and communities would be given appropriate representation within the organization. He also mentioned that the BJP would focus on increasing the participation of women and Dalits to ensure they receive proper political representation. It was clearly stated in the meeting that BJP is not a dynastic party but one that operates on family values. By providing space to Dalits and women in the organization, BJP is shaping its strategy for future politics.

It appears that Uttar Pradesh BJP will get a new state president by the beginning of the new year. Additionally, the selection process for district presidents will be completed between December 16 and 30. BJP’s National General Secretary Vinod Tawde has been appointed as an observer for the organizational elections and will attend a meeting on December 1 regarding the elections. Before that, from November 28 to December 2, workshops will be held at the district level. A central observer will be assigned for every three districts. From December 1 to 15, the selection process for divisional presidents will take place. On December 6, the death anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar will be observed at the booth level, and on December 25, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be celebrated as Governance Day. Following that, on December 27, the party will observe Martyrs’ Day.

It is worth noting that BJP’s current state president, Bhupendra Chaudhary, has completed his term, and a new president will be elected in his place. Before that, BJP is focused on forming booth committees, with a deadline of November 30. There are over 1.62 lakh booths in Uttar Pradesh, and committees have already been formed in 35% of them, with the remaining committees expected to be completed by November 30. After this, the selection process for divisional presidents will take place from December 1 to 15, followed by the selection of district presidents between December 16 and 30. Prior to that, BJP will organize workshops at the district level.

Meanwhile, the BJP has set an age limit for giving prominence to youth within the organization. State General Secretary Organization Dharmapal stated that the age of divisional presidents should be between 35 and 45 years, while the age of district presidents should be between 45 and 60 years. It is clear that BJP will not appoint anyone over the age of 45 as divisional president and anyone over 60 as district president. BJP has also decided that leaders who have served as divisional president twice will not be reappointed for a third term. Furthermore, BJP has stipulated that the district president must have 7 to 8 years of experience working in the organization. Additionally, only those currently holding any position in the BJP organization will be considered for the position of district president.
