New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad has been honoured as the Best Institute for Fostering Intellectual Property (IP) and Innovation at the 4th IP Excellence Awards and Global IP Conclave 2024, organized by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM).
The prestigious awards ceremony took place on 3 December, at The Lalit, New Delhi.
This recognition underscores IIT-ISM’s ongoing commitment to promoting innovation and advancing intellectual property awareness, under the leadership of Director Prof. Sukumar Mishra. The institute’s efforts in fostering a robust IP and innovation ecosystem were celebrated at the event.
Dr. Anindya Roy Chowdhury, IPR Chair and Patent Attorney at IIT-ISM Dhanbad, accepted the award on behalf of the institute. She also delivered an insightful talk titled “Redefining the Future: The Imperative for a New IP Policy in India,” highlighting the evolving IP landscape in the country.
Dr. Chowdhury participated in a panel discussion on “IP Challenges and Commercialization,” offering valuable perspectives on the subject.
The recognition is also a tribute to the contributions of Professor Alok Das, Dean (Innovation, Incubation, and Entrepreneurship), and Professor R. Anand, Faculty in Charge (IE), whose support has been instrumental in strengthening the institute’s IP and innovation ecosystem.
