Bokaro: Two football tournaments organized by the Unique Club concluded with great excitement on Saturday at the Sector 3 High School ground in Bokaro. The event, held to honor Mahaparinirvan Diwas and commemorate the legacy of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, saw intense competition among teams from various regions.
A total of ten teams from Bokaro, Chandankiyari, Dhanbad, Chandrapura, and Purulia participated in the tournament. The final match saw Alpha Club from Chandankiyari Badahdih face off against Ukma Club from Purulia. After a hard-fought battle, Ukma Club triumphed with a 1-0 victory, securing the championship title.
BJP leader Kumar Amit, the chief guest at the event, addressed both the winning and runner-up teams following the awards ceremony. He underscored the importance of sports in youth development, stating, “Sports not only build personality but also instill discipline and responsibility. By fostering a better sports environment in every village, we can help reduce criminal activities and promote a healthy, crime-free society.”
Biru Kumar played the role of referee in the tournament. The event also saw the presence of several distinguished guests, including Naru Kalindi, the main organizer, along with Atul Singh, Jitendra Kalindi, Balram Kumar, Vikas Kalindi, Chandraprakash, Khirod Kalindi, and Dinesh Kalindi. A large number of players and spectators attended the event, contributing to its success and making it a memorable occasion for the community.
