Gaya: In a sharp statement on Tuesday, Bihar’s Co-operative Minister, Prem Kumar, took a dig at the India alliance, particularly in response to Mamta Banerjee’s expressed interest in leading the alliance. Speaking to media personnel at the Circuit House in Gaya, Kumar declared that the “countdown for the India alliance has begun,” adding that the people of the country have already rejected them. He further emphasized that no matter who assumes leadership within the alliance, it would not change their fate.
Kumar criticized the alliance’s lack of electoral success, pointing to recent results in Maharashtra, Haryana, and Bihar by-elections. “These results prove that the India alliance has no foothold in the country,” he said. He also forecasted a bleak future for the coalition, predicting that a time would come when no one would even mention the India alliance. “It is a sinking ship,” he remarked, highlighting the situation in Mamta Banerjee’s home state, where he claimed there was an ongoing “jungle raj” and that people were fleeing the region.
Drawing parallels with the past, Kumar accused Mamta Banerjee of replicating the “jungle raj” seen in Bihar during Lalu Yadav’s tenure. He pointed out issues like rampant infiltration in West Bengal and described the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) as a sinking ship with leaders scrambling to protect their positions. “PM Narendra Modi is the only way forward,” Kumar asserted.
Kumar also criticized the Mahagathbandhan’s leadership, accusing them of stalling progress in the Parliament, which he referred to as the “temple of democracy.” He expressed confidence that only the NDA alliance would thrive across the country as the Mahagathbandhan faces extinction.
In response to Lalu Yadav’s recent remarks aimed at pleasing Nitish Kumar, Prem Kumar condemned the statement, labeling it “condemnable.” “It is shocking that someone with such vast experience in politics would make such a statement,” he remarked. He further demanded an apology from Lalu Yadav for insulting women, especially in the context of the Mahila Samvad Yatra. “Lalu Yadav must apologize in time, or else the people of Bihar will give him a lesson in the future,” warned Kumar.
