Gaya: In a significant breakthrough during the ongoing anti-Naxal operation in Gaya district, police have arrested two hardcore Maoists who had been absconding for 12 and 11 years, respectively. Among the arrested individuals is an area commander who was active across Gaya and Aurangabad districts.
The arrests were made from different locations within Gaya, as confirmed by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ashish Bharti in a press conference held on Saturday. SSP Bharti revealed that one of the arrested Maoists, Aditya Bhuiya, alias Naresh Bhuiya, alias Kundan ji, had been on the run for 12 years and was apprehended from the Dumaria police station area. Bhuiya, a resident of Bela village under Imamaganj police station, had been involved in a 2012 attack on a police force to loot weapons, during which several police personnel were seriously injured.
The second arrest involved Kaushal Yadav, alias Krishna Yadav, who had been evading capture for 11 years. Yadav was arrested from Divaniya village in the Dhangai police station area. In 2011, Yadav was implicated in the murder of Sanjay Yadav, the head of the MPM organization, along with two of his companions. He also looted firearms, including a licensed rifle and pistol, and had been on the run since then.
SSP Bharti further stated that Yadav has been linked to seven criminal cases related to Naxal activities across Barachatti, Roshanganj, Aamas, and Sherghati police stations in Gaya district.
