New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh passed away on Thursday at the age of 92. The senior Congress leader, who had been battling health issues for some time, was admitted to AIIMS Delhi in critical condition on Thursday evening. Sources confirmed that Singh breathed his last at the hospital later that evening.
Leading figures from the Congress Party, including Priyanka Gandhi, arrived at AIIMS to pay their respects. Priyanka’s husband, Robert Vadra, expressed his grief on Instagram, saying, “I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh ji. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Thank you for your service to our nation. You will always be remembered for your economic revolution and the progressive changes you brought to the country.”
Manmohan Singh, born on September 26, 1932, in Gah, Pakistan, is remembered for his pivotal role in steering India’s economic reforms during his tenure as Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014. He leaves behind a legacy of economic growth and progressive policies that reshaped the nation.
