Ranchi: The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, recently organized a successful seminar titled “Digital Frauds Through Spams: Safety Lies in Awareness,” focusing on raising awareness about digital threats.
The seminar featured Vijay Bhusan Prasad Pandey, Deputy Director General (State Coordination) of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Jharkhand, as the keynote speaker.
Drawing from his extensive experience in telecommunications and cybersecurity, Pandey addressed the growing issue of digital frauds and spam attacks. He emphasized the importance of individual awareness and proactive steps to safeguard personal and organizational data. Through real-world examples, he explained the tactics used by cybercriminals and offered practical advice on how to detect and prevent these threats.
The session, which was attended by faculty, students, and professionals, also included a lively Q&A segment. Pandey was joined by Deo Shankar, Director of the Department of Telecommunications, and Nilesh Kumar Sinha, ADET at the Department of Telecommunications, who is an alumnus of BIT Mesra. Their insights and experiences further enriched the discussion.
