University of Tasmania Opens Applications for Master of Strategic Communication

Australia: The University of Tasmania (UTAS) is now accepting applications for its Master of Strategic Communication program for 2025. This postgraduate course is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge to excel in diverse communication environments, including sciences, creative industries, and politics.

The program prepares graduates to navigate the complexities of a global, digital-first communication landscape, particularly in sectors such as Arts, Law, Education, Engineering, Sciences, and Health. With an increasing demand for skilled communicators, the Master’s program caters to both fresh graduates and professionals seeking to transition from fields like business, arts, and science into strategic communication roles.

The two-year, full-time program is taught in English and offers specializations such as Environmental Conservation and Management, Marketing Communication, Public and Environmental Health, and Tourism and Experience. Students will benefit from Tasmania’s unique industry connections and the Media School’s reputation for cutting-edge research.

To be eligible, applicants must meet the minimum academic requirements, including a Bachelor’s degree with a credit average or three years of professional experience in related fields like journalism or public relations. Additionally, applicants must meet the English proficiency standard, which requires an IELTS score of 6.5 overall, with no band below 6.0, unless exempted by prior education in an English-speaking country.

While there is no set application deadline, candidates are advised to apply for their Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) at least three months before the course begins.
