#PM Modi set to take holy dip in Maha Kumbh tomorrow

Prayagraj: King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj today, marking a significant moment at the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also participated in the ritual.

Following the dip, the King is set to visit the Akshayvat and Bade Hanuman Temple, and explore the Digital Mahakumbh Experience Centre, which offers insights into the festival using modern technology.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to take a holy dip at the Mela on Wednesday. He will arrive in Prayagraj at 10:05 am and is expected to perform the ritual between 11:00 and 11:30 am, weeks after a tragic stampede claimed 30 lives and injured 60 others during the festival.

The Maha Kumbh Mela, a significant Hindu pilgrimage held every 144 years, has drawn a large gathering of sadhus, ascetics, and pilgrims. VIPs such as Union ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, boxer Mary Kom, and Laurene Powell Jobs have also attended the event. This year’s Mela holds special significance as it coincides with the 12th Kumbh Mela.
