Prayagraj: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam during the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. Reflecting on the spiritual significance of the moment, the Prime Minister shared on social media that the ritual was a moment of divine connection. He expressed his sense of devotion, similar to the millions of devotees participating in the event, and prayed for the blessings of Maa Ganga, hoping for peace, wisdom, good health, and harmony for the people of India.
Accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, PM Modi took a boat ride to reach the Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers. At the site, the Prime Minister performed aarti and puja, continuing the government’s commitment to preserving and promoting India’s spiritual and cultural heritage. In line with this vision, PM Modi has consistently worked to improve infrastructure and facilities at religious sites. During his visit to Prayagraj last December, he inaugurated 167 development projects worth ₹5,500 crore, aimed at enhancing connectivity, amenities, and services for devotees.
The Maha Kumbh, which began on January 13 with Paush Purnima, is the largest spiritual gathering in the world, attracting millions of pilgrims from across the globe. The event will continue until Mahashivaratri on February 26. So far, over 39 crore devotees have taken a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju also participated in the sacred ritual this morning.
