Bokaro: Ayush Lachhiramka, a student from DPS Bokaro, has made history by becoming the only student from Bihar and Jharkhand to qualify for both the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO) and the prestigious International Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (IMOTC) 2025. The camp will be held at the Chennai Mathematical Institute in May this year.
Ayush, competing in Category ‘A’ (students from classes VIII to XI), scored an impressive 41 points, well above the 31-point cutoff for IMOTC. Out of thousands of participants, only 69 students qualified for IMOTC, and 67 were selected for the Asian Pacific Mathematics Olympiad (APMO), highlighting Ayush’s exceptional mathematical talent.
The Mathematical Olympiad Programme, organized by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) under the Department of Atomic Energy, aims to identify and nurture young mathematical talent across India.
DPS Bokaro Principal Dr. A.S. Gangwar congratulated Ayush on his remarkable achievement and wished him success in the next stages of the competition.
