Jharkhand Government Offices to Remain Open on Sundays for Budget Session Preparations

Ranchi: In a significant move, the Jharkhand government has announced that offices will remain open on Sundays to facilitate the smooth functioning of the ongoing budget session. The Health Department issued an official order in this regard, under the directive of Government Joint Secretary Lalit Mohan Shukla.

The order comes in response to the commencement of Jharkhand’s budget session, which began on February 24 and is scheduled to run until March 27. During this period, Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) will be raising questions related to various departmental issues. To ensure that responses to these questions are prepared in a timely manner, the decision to keep offices open on weekends has been made.

Specifically, the order states that there will be no holiday on March 8 (Saturday) or March 9 (Sunday). On these days, offices will operate as usual, allowing officials and employees to compile reports and prepare answers required for legislative work.

This move is aimed at ensuring that all necessary information and responses are available for the assembly’s proceedings, further ensuring the smooth and effective continuation of the legislative process.
