Vedanta ESL’s “V for Society” Initiative Empowers Communities through Employee Volunteering

Bokaro: Vedanta ESL’s “V for Society” Employee Volunteering Week has once again made a significant impact, highlighting the company’s commitment to community welfare and sustainability.

Over 50 employees actively participated in a series of social initiatives, including a cloth distribution drive, plantation efforts, mural painting, digital literacy sessions, and arts and crafts workshops.

Employees engaged in several community upliftment activities, such as painting vibrant murals on a hut for local farmers at Wadi Farm. They also conducted digital and financial literacy sessions for youth from Skill School and women from Project Jivika, helping to improve employability skills.

At the Prerna Drawing Center, employees and students collaborated on creative arts and crafts projects, strengthening bonds and fostering creativity.

The volunteering week also saw the planting of 100 saplings at Wadi fields in a bid to promote environmental sustainability, alongside a cloth distribution drive to provide essentials to underprivileged communities.

Kunal Daripa, Head of CSR at ESL, emphasised the initiative’s importance, saying, “Through ‘V for Society,’ we not only enrich lives but also foster empathy and a sense of purpose among our employees. This aligns perfectly with our philosophy of building a sustainable, compassionate future.”

The initiative enhances employees’ leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while deepening Vedanta ESL’s connection with the communities it serves.
