National Conference on Challenges Faced by State Commissions and Tribunals Held in Gaya

Gaya: The Board of Revenue, Bihar, in collaboration with the Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (BIPARD), hosted a one-day National Conference on “Issues and Challenges Faced by State Commissions and Tribunals” on Sunday at the Convention Hall, Mahabodhi Cultural Centre, Bodh Gaya.

The conference, attended by around 180 delegates from 17 states, included sitting and retired High Court Justices, Chairpersons, Presidents, and members of various State Commissions and Tribunals, senior administrative officers, and the Advocate General of Bihar. Justice Amreshwar Pratap Sahi, President of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, graced the event as the Chief Guest.

K K. Pathak, I.A.S., Director-General of BIPARD, and Dr. B. Rajender, I.A.S., Additional Chief Secretary of the General Administration Department, Government of Bihar, were also present there.

The conference featured two plenary sessions and three breakout sessions focusing on key issues such as consumer rights, the functioning of Revenue Boards, human rights, the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA), 2016, and the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005. The discussions centered on the challenges faced by these institutions and sought solutions to enhance their effectiveness in delivering justice and good governance.

BIPARD has been actively organizing national-level conferences to foster policy discussions and administrative training. Recent events include conferences on data-driven governance, new criminal laws, and regional developmental concerns, further reinforcing BIPARD’s commitment to promoting reforms and improving institutional frameworks across India.
